The right action is suspension.
A system that cannot trust who is directing it should not keep acting on that directive. EPOCHÉ is STELE making that limit visible.
Extraction, model calls, and edits stop. The compiled egregore becomes a suspension notice. The interface is replaced by the reasons for the stop and one deliberate reset action. There is no “continue anyway.”
Detection is bounded: STELE checks for registered patterns and structural violations. It cannot establish that every unflagged instruction is trustworthy.
Memory is the model's. The directive is yours.
A model's memory is passive and model-specific. It drifts, it resets, it belongs
to whichever system you happened to be talking to. A directive is the active
opposite — a model-agnostic instrument you author on purpose and keep.
